Just past the lake you will see this and then you will always pay attention when someone tells you to be aware of avalanches. The trees are knocked down for a half a mile. You use to be able to see the glacier from here but it has receded from view. Going up one side of the river requires skill in rock climbing and can be quite dangerous. To go the easier other way, you must ford the incredibly swift, deep, and chilly river to get to it.
Way in the back is Eklutna Glacier.
