This is one serious upper body workout!

Tram

You'll cross this valley right after the Saddle Trail A very silty, and fierce glacial river. Eagle takes off near Humpty Creek.

Going up either side is just as hard as the other. Bring mats as the shore is really rocky. A polychrome wonder dominates the view.

Grewingk Lake II

Camp here near the glacier if the weathers warm as the breeze off the glacier make this spot cooler. Plan on spending the day here exploring. Last of the views before heading into a lush rain forest that constantly goes up.

Emerald Lake Trail View

Not too many sites but at least it has a bear box. Follow the orange sticks. Great views of Katchemak Bay and Grewingk Valley.

Portluck Plateau

Portluck Plateau View

Not only was it cool to be here in the fall, it went on forever and ever. In August, lots of bears, eagles and humans will congregate here for the salmon. As the tide rises, this beach will be covered within a few hours.
