You can get a good idea of how unusual the back moraine is. A great reason not to ignore the back canyon. It was this waterfall that tempted me to see its source. THANK YOU WATERFALL! The Mtn in the background is the one you climb to Eagle River Overlook.

Unnamed Lake

Once you get to this ridge, it's easy hiking unless you climb to Eagle River Overlook. I'm glad I came back (see below) to see this lake unfrozen. This is a cool shaped tarn in the valley floor. A great place to set up camp if you don't want the possible cold of the Plateau

The plateau has the best views. That mountain in the background is the Eagle River Overlook. I took this pic at the top of the most unusually shaped moraine I've ever encountered while hiking (see below).

Unnamed Lake (Frozen)

I came back so I could see what the lake looked like unfrozen. Good timing as you can already see the termination dust on top of the mountain. Mt. McKinley can be faintly seen in the background. I have never seen a morraine shaped like this. Make the time to explore it thoroughly.

It's really cool to see this after 4 years from so high and not ground level.
