Just after this lake is where you start a steep drop to the glacial river and to Nelchina Glacier. Once you get over the first hill going through the marsh and wetland, the view of the mountains really open up. It's amazing how flat the land is before you get to them. I hope to have a picture of the Glacier someday.  A wicked allergy/asthma  attack caused me to stop and set up camp before I could get there.
