This is Anchorage's water source. In the back are the 2 valleys carved by the 2 branches of Eklutna Glacier. The Lake is over 8 miles long. One of the highest peaks in the Chugach's; it's a great hike.

Bold Peak in Clouds

Both the Eastern and the Western Branch are visible. Incredible views of this peak throughout the hike. The Knik Valley is in the background. Access to the peaks is through a trail that winds around this bowl.

Possible Chistmas card for 2004. There ain't nothing like the Chugach's in the fall. Peak View II Glad I brought enough water; we were both real dry and thirsty.
